MONDAY
1. What is the event or issue that inspired the picture?
The man in the picture is obsessed with the shoe company NIKE.
2. List the people and/or objects in the picture.
A man with a stitched Nike check on his face.
3. Identify the specific artistic techniques used in the picture (i.e., symbolism, analogy, exaggeration, labeling, and irony). The check mark symbolizes Nike. It's exaggeration cause it's stitched to his face.
4. List three things that you might infer from the picture.
Nike must mean something more than just shoes to this man. It's taking over his life. He cant control himself.
5. Explain the message of the picture.
The Nike check means more than life to this man.
6. What special interest groups would agree/disagree with the picture message? Why? Nike would disagree with the picture message, they would find this behavior being odd. It's beyond too drastic.
7. What is the artist’s point of view (for or against) about the topic portrayed in the picture? Give examples to support your interpretation. People are becoming to take Nike more than just a shoe brand. They are exaggerating and doing drastic things such as the picture being portrayed.
8. Is this picture persuasive? Explain why or why not? As advertisement, this picture wouldn't be appropriate. The stitching is what really throws off the concept of the picture. The picture could represent different things besides what I explained.
